Location:

NYPH Columbia Campus

Industry:

HealthCare

Challenge:

HealthCare facility required an existing Emergency Department area expansion and renovation completed on expedited schedule. The construction scheduled for Area D would impact ED’s capabilities in other areas as they would have absorb care for patients that would have received treatment in Area D.

Solution:

This was the fifth phase of the overall Adult ED- Area D expansion and renovation. Subcontractors from from earlier phases were contracted and an accelerated schedule was agreed upon by all parties. Weekly meetings with SUBs allows for coordination of trades to furnish and install as effectively as possible.

Result:

Client related work was required. Which impacted overall construction schedule.

Terrazo flooring took 4-5 weeks of schedule which limited access to site for all other contractors. Efficient coordination by all parties allowed the project to meet its scheduled time line. This allowed NYPH to occupy the Area D on time and meet patients need at full capacity. Client stated appreciation for not only finishing ahead of schedule but overall workmanship and beyond reproach.
